Kahoot might be the most name brand digital assessment tool. They are also a company that is continually working to improve their platform. Kahoot's greatest feature is how quickly it engages students and creates a frenzied atmosphere as soon as the game begins. Students can also play against themselves in ghost mode if you choose to play the same Kahoot back-to-back. Kahoot also offers a Team mode to introduce collaboration between players. Finally, Kahoot allows for teachers to use gamification to introduce a topic through a lesson plan template and not just use it for assessments. To do this you turn points on and off throughout the lesson to lesson the stress of understanding the information.

Quizalize is another online assessment platform, similar to Kahoot and Quizizz, that lets students compete against each other individually or in teams. However, the thing that sets Quizalize apart a little from those other platforms is in its ability to create quizzes, differentiate those quizzes for students, and the amount of data available after the quiz.
Quizzes are made up of multiple choice questions, they can be imported from a spreadsheet or from Quizlet, they can be aligned to a standard or topic, they can include a math mode, images, audio, and text-to-speech, and you can provide an explanation after the question has been answered. You can also search for quizzes created by other users and print a bubble sheet for the Quizalize activity.
Quizalize has what they call a "Mastery Dashboard." This dashboard is color-coded and allows educators to see which skills students have passed, still need help with, and have not yet mastered. To access this data you need to make sure to tag quizzes to your curriculum.
